Lobbying Parliamentarians
The Access to Information draft (A2I) law was prepared by the Legal Working Group of the Network, endorsed by the Network, and submitted to parliament on April 9, 2009, by members of the Lebanese Parliamentarians Against Corruption (LebPAC) Ghassan Moukheiber, Yassine Jaber, Abdallah Hanna, Ismail Sukkarieh and Jawad Boulos.
We currently are in the process of informing and lobbying all members of parliament about the draft law to ensure its speedy adoption in committees and by Parliament. This effort is led, on a peer-to-peer basis, by LebPAC in collaboration with Network member Nahwa Al Muwatiniya (Na-aM). To that effect, LebPAC MPs and Na-aM trained lobbyists from all backgrounds are visiting members of parliament to familiarize them with A2I concepts and the proposed law.
